On Thursday, June 20th, the annual Solstice 2019 event took place, bringing people together through the shared love of arts and community. This year, proceeds from the Solstice fundraiser supported another season of the new Roosevelt Row Academy program.
Here’s what happened:
This year’s featured Roosevelt Row Academy teaching artists shared stories of success, as well as highlights from this year shared by Roosevelt Row Board President Vermon Pierre, and special guest Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego.
Because of your support, the Roosevelt Row Academy is able to continue providing ways for local artists to share their talents and expertise with the growing downtown Phoenix community. Invest in the growth of the program to reach more artists and community members, making arts available for all!
About Roosevelt Row Academy
The Roosevelt Row Academy began as a City of Phoenix grant funded project to provide paid opportunities for artists to share their medium and accessibility to our diverse community. There is something magical about the power of three when it comes to collaboration among Artists, Business and Community. During Spring 2019, free, 1-hour workshops were facilitated by three different artists/disciplines per month, offering creative outlets for people to come together and learn a new art form! This Fall, the inaugural program will continue, with new artists and new workshops. With your help, Roosevelt Row CDC can continue offering this free valuable program for the Phoenix community.
Special thanks to Arizona State University and True North Studio for supporting this fundraiser.
