Elevated programs designed with our the artists in mind
Downtown Phoenix hosts one of the nation’s largest, self-guided art walks every First Friday. First Friday is a free, community arts gathering taking place each month. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are currently hosting a Virtual First Friday experience to explore art safely in the comfort of your home.
Our ARTS Market is the perfect way for artists to showcase their work in the community!  Our ARTS Market program takes place once a month on First Friday, the largest self-guided art evenings in America, attracting over 25,000 people each month, offering a vibrant arts vending experience in downtown Phoenix. What started out as a vacant lot activation program to reimagine how artists can showcase their work on vacant spaces with creative intervention, has now evolved into multiple streets and community lots where 100+artists can sell locally-made arts products to frequenters of the district.
We also partner with other community markets such as Archwood Exchange’s Buy Black Marketplace and the Squash Blossom Indigenous Market, where a diverse array of cultures and creativity can display their work and celebrate creativity.
  • Description: “The Roosevelt Row Academy began as a City of Phoenix grant funded project to provide paid opportunities for artists to share their medium and accessibility to our diverse community. Thanks to the generous support of Etsy, the program has evolved into donation-based monthly art classes, led by a local teaching artist, to offer creative outlets for people to come together and learn a new art form.
  • “Returning Soon!”
  •  UNCONTAINED: A Seasonal Mural Story
  • Description: The UNCONTAINED mural project is designed to elevate emerging Latinx and Indigenous artists, providing a platform to create and showcase their stories on a prominent shipping container in the Roosevelt Row Arts district. Share your voice and your story!
This project is a collaboration with Xico Arte y Cultura, IndigeDesign Collab, Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation and local artists to keep the spirit of art alive in downtown Phoenix.
