ARTS, CULTURE and SMALL BUSINESS OVERLAY APPROVED
Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and the City Council unanimously approved the new Arts, Culture and Small Business Overlay on April 2, 2008. The overlay went into effect on May 2, 2008. The overlay helps encourage adaptive reuse and provides benefits to small businesses with the overlay boundaries along Roosevelt Street and Roosevelt Row. FIRST FRIDAYS VENDORS
Roosevelt Row hosts a monthly block party street closure to provide a designated area for vendors for First Fridays. The block party is free to attend and attracts thousands of one block south of Roosevelt on Garfield Street between Third Street and Sixth Street.
